Freedom – Doing what you love to do

Freedom

Let freedom ring.  If this is the case then why do we suppress it?  Why do we not take it for all it is worth?  Our ancestors as well as myself and family have fought for it and many have died so that we can have freedom.

Now it seems that today, all we do is stick ourselves into world of work, more work, sleep, and more work.  Also known as a rut.  For those who think the rut is comfortable, then this is not for you.  For those who want to get out of the rut, to live, to be healthy, to be free and do what you love to do, then please read on.

Over the years, we have had a flood of economic downturns and upturns.  Each time we seem to lose more than we have gained, and many of us have lost thousands and thousands of dollars even though our financial advisers just tell us to hang in there.  Then there comes the family crisis, the need for a new car, clothes for the kids, a new refrigerator, or some other financial crisis.   We need the money, so we use it up.  This leaves us with little money for retirement or savings accounts.

We got the kids through college, we paid off most of the loans.  Now we are left with aging parents and our own health struggles.  Isn’t it time to change all of this?  Why can’t we help our aging parents who are living beyond their money and at the same time pay off our mortgages and credit card debts?

We can and there is a way.  I have decided for me it is going to be through Shaklee.   Being a product of the product, and knowing that study after study has proven the effectiveness of the products.  And this all comes without the hype of highly paid athletes and movies stars.  All I had to do is talk with those individuals who have been in Shaklee for 20 or more years.  For the most part, they are the healthiest, happiest  people I know.  They seldom go to the doctor.  They are active in society.  They still run their businesses and farms.  They enjoy life.  They relish the idea of doing things.  They like to go to conferences to visit each other as if they were at a big family reunion.  In fact, Shaklee is just one big, healthy family.

The Shaklee family can tell story after story of someone who has been stricken with a serious illness, tried the products,  and found them to be effective.  Do these stories make the headlines?  Of course not.  They are part of the family.  Do you put your family details out to the news media?  Most likely not.  Do they brag about their business and how much money they are making?  Most do not.  Do you shout out your family income on the rooftops?  If you do, then Shaklee is not for you.

If you are the type of person who just wants to do what you want to do when you want to do it, then Shaklee is a vehicle that is going to get you there.  Is it glorified, glamorous, and full of hype?  Not on your life!   It is quiet, healthy, dignified company with products that are helping thousands and thousands of people both physically and financially.  Many become financially independent and many are customers.  That is what Shaklee is all about.

What is in it for you?  Freedom, health, financial independence, doing what you want to do when you want to do it.  What is your hobby?  What is your passion?  Do you really want to do it or do you want to work to make someone else’s dream come true?

If you are like me and just want to keep things simple and maintain your independence and freedom, then I would urge you to contact me and let me show you the simple, independent life.

Simplicity made simple with Shaklee

Shaklee simplicity
With Shaklee you can keep it simple

Want to simplify your life?

As I continue to age and look back over my life, I start to realize that when we are young, we want it all.  We want to get a college education, get a job, have a family, travel around the world, and do what we want, when we want to do it.  There is only one problem: Money!

Money is the world’s equalizer.  Without it, you can’t do very much, and with a lot, your options open up tremendously.  It is like oxygen.  You can’t live without it but we don’t have to have pure oxygen to stay alive.  However, the more we have the better our bodies seem to operate.

The next problem is time.  We all have the same 24 hours in a day.  What we do with our time is at our discretion – that is unless we have a job.  Then we do with our time what our employer wants us to do as we become slaves to the employer.

So where is that illusive job where you can have it all? Time, money, family, travel, health, working at your own pace on your own time?  It does exist, but I it seems to be that we are not supposed to know about it when we enter the work force.  And, I can understand why.

Imagine that you come out of college with a Bachelor of Science degree.  You’re ready to go to work.  You’ve been conditioned all your life that when you get that job, you’re going to be required to get up early and go to bed late because you have to make that proper entrance at the job and stay late to impress the boss.  There will be the required social gatherings, off-site meetings, impromptu staff meetings on Friday nights, and working lunch meetings to attend.  You are ready for it, but first you have to find that job.

Now, let’s consider network marketing.  You come out of college with a Bachelor of Science degree or maybe just got your high school diploma.  You join a company like Shaklee.  You use the products to maintain your health and you share them with some of your like-minded friends who in turn have been sharing them with their friends and neighbors.  You get together once a week at the local watering pub to share thoughts about the products and listen to people who have been helped with various health issues.  Maybe these are issues like more energy, lost weight, can bench press longer and more weight, run faster and longer without getting tired, etc.  Oh, and once a month you collect a check and double check your bank balance.

Sometimes you can’t make the local pub meeting so you travel to the beach with some friends and skype the meeting.  Sometime you go to another country and share the products with your traveling companions who like your style of living, and they in turn share it with their peers.  Your bonus check increases and you’re thankful it is on auto-deposit so you don’t have to be bothered with going to the bank every month.

Is this life too simple?  Is that why people don’t get involved with a network marketing company?  Or, is it they don’t know which company to join?  For me, it was the last reason, so I joined one, then two, and found out the real mission of the company as well as the quality of the products.

That is when I finally found Shaklee.  Oh, I have seen companies come and go.  I have seen jobs come and go.  One thing that I have found is that some companies have longevity and stability.  One of those companies is Shaklee.  A quality, all natural company that is now poised to rapidly expand.  Don’t you want to join me?

Be Real. Be Honest. Be Consistent.

All or nothing
Going for all or nothing

I recently read an article by Lianne Bremer that I wanted to share with everyone.   I have been involved with several network marketing companies, and many times we think that by getting involved, we well get the help from the person who appears to be super successful.  Then when the honeymoon is over, the charismatic entrepreneur moves on leaving you to fend for yourself.  Lianne wraps it up pretty well:

I know a professional networker who has experienced a modicum of success.  He has made millions, lost millions, and yet keeps trudging along.
I am watching him now as he builds another company from scratch.  He exudes personality, promises, and a polished skill.  People meeting him for the first time are utterly enchanted.  They are sucked into his vortex of excitement and hope.
However, I have noticed a huge disconnect with this man.  He promises his time, his tutelage, and his assistance, and yet when the new recruit tries to connect with him again, he vanishes.  Phone calls are never returned.  Promises are never kept.
Is the man successful? Well, he does make money, but not as much as he could.  He is constantly reinventing himself and his downline, because he goes through people almost as fast as he goes through money.
This is not network marketing.  This is how scams are perpetuated.  You cannot build a business on promises you have no intention of keeping.  You cannot recruit people to build a business if you lure them in with a commitment to help them, promote them, and then vanish into thin air.
When you first step into the networking waters, you have to know that the entire house of cards is built on the quality of your relationships, and your ability to be consistent with them.  If you promise to be on a three-way call with someone, you’d better be available and on your game.
Too much of the bad press about networking is due to the lack of integrity in relationships. So, integrity, honesty, and consistency have to be the watchwords that lead to success.
If you are real with people, you will build a real organization of committed individuals.  And that is true success.

My goal is to work with people who are looking for more in life, living a healthier life, and getting back to nature is my goal and I am committed to helping those individuals who are looking for the same thing.

The beginnings of an opportunity

I would have never believed it.  To hear this kind of news, you must be kidding.  I eat right, or think I do.  I’m not tremendously overweight, at least if I compare myself with the general populace. I exercise sometimes, in spite of the fact that the media tells me that I only have to do 20 minutes of vigorous exercise everyday.  I must remember that everyone has a different definition of vigorous!

About 15 years ago, my wife and I were attending a health fair at one of the local hotels.  I had been thinking more seriously about what I would look like when I got to be in my 60’s and beyond. Looking at the people around me, I realized that I was pretty healthy and really didn’t have any serious health issues (or so I thought).  Sure, I had some heart problems, my joints hurt due to a bad knee injury left over from basic training,  took Tums for my stomach after evening meals, and was pushing 200 pounds for my 6 foot frame.  Wasn’t this the norm?  Isn’t this America where it was okay to be 20-30 pounds overweight and talk about all your health issues?

It was at the health fair, that I took one of the devices you hold in your hands at chest level for a minute or so and the readout came:  OBESE.  What?  You are kidding, right?  OBESE at 26 percent body fat?  OBESE?  I didn’t like that word.  For me it was the start of my quest to be healthier.  I needed to do something about it.  But what do I do?  I had been at this weight for over 30 years!  Why would I want to change?  This was my wake-up call.  However, it wasn’t one of those instant changes where you decide to go on a crash diet by not eating, drinking only water for a week straight to get back into shape.  There was no way I was going to do that.  I had seen other people try it, and after a week of dehydration, they would typically go back to eating like they had always done as that was their “comfort zone” and they were not about make a change.

For my wife and I, it was more about taking a look at where we were, assessing the situation, and starting to make subtle changes.  I was content with my weight at that time.  I did not realize that I would be more content, as well as comfortable, if I lost  some of those extra pounds that were classifying me as “obese.”

The first thing I did was to start reading labels and counting calories.  Not that I knew anything at the time about what I was reading, but it sounded good.  The next thing was to eliminate things I didn’t really need like candy, sugar, sodas, junk food, etc.  Needless to say, just by doing that, I reduced that number of Tums I was taking every night.

The next step, I hypothesized correctly, was the need for some sort of vitamin supplementation.  There are a million different variations of nutritional vitamin supplements on the market.  Everyone advertises theirs as the best.  I started with a vitamin network marketing company that said they could prove they were the best.  They had the documentation, the doctors’ endorsements, and at the plenty of testimonies endorsing the products.

That was now the opportunity to begin a new career!
