Goodbye Timecard, Hello Residual Income

Think back to your first job – were you a babysitter, a paperboy, or punching the time card at McDonalds? In each of these jobs you were paid by the hour or to complete a job. When you were on the clock you got paid, but the moment you entered your employee number into the computer for your break the clock stopped. These jobs along with many more salary type professions are considered active income.

shaklee-become-memberAre you always Active?

Active income is when you are paid for a certain amount of work. You work for one hour and receive one hour’s wages. To increase your income you must either work more or find a way to increase the amount you are paid per hour of work. Your income is a direct result of your actions. Active income is also limited, we all have 24 hours in a day and 7 days in a week. You can only work so many hours so therefore the time that you can be paid for your actions directly limits your active income. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could get paid when you are not on the clock? You can.

Hello Residual Income

In all things there are opposites and residual or passive income is the opposite of active income. In residual income you receive payment for an action long after the action has been completed. The rich and famous enjoy residual income from song rights, book sales, and patents. But you don’t have to be famous to enjoy the benefits of residual income.

Potential Sources of Residual Income

  • Advertisements, subscriptions, donations or affiliate links on your blog or website
  • Purchasing property and leasing or renting out the space
  • eBook sales
  • Investment programs with interest
  • Photography royalties for stock photos
  • Network marketing opportunities

Almost a Fairy Tale

Now don’t let the word passive fool you. With residual income you have the potential to earn money while lounging on the beach, but you need to put in the effort to get your investment rolling. Choose an opportunity that matches your strengths and has the potential for growth.

In network marketing you invest in the right product and share that product with customers that connect to its purpose and value. You move products or services through a vein of like minded people that become loyal to a product or service. As the customers return to the product again and again long after your initial contact and sale your residual income grows. The only limit to residual income is how much you do and are willing to help other people.

Freedom

Residual income allows you to free yourself from the timecard. As you grow your business you could go from a part time job that brings you full time pay to being financially independent. Whether this provides you with freedom from debts, the ability to move your location, or change your family lifestyle – investing in a residual income business is a postive investment in your future.

Make the Decision and Get Healthy

No one says “Man, I hope I can get in great shape for just a little while and then gain back all the weight I lost.” Maybe you had a time in your life where you worked really hard for your wedding pictures to look perfect or the look great on a vacation. Did you stay committed to your health after those big events? Why not? The answer lies in your underlying motivation.

All or nothing
Going for all or nothing

What Motivates You?

If you are trying to slim down for a reunion or other “look-at-me” life moment chances are you will relapse into your old habits and the weight will come back, perhaps even faster than you gained it before. Starving yourself, staying on a liquid or highly restrictive diet will cause you to lose weight, but it won’t make you healthy and strong.

Take a look at your health. Physically are you satisfied with your body? Does your body enable you to pursue your adventures or does it cause you daily frustration? Maybe your doctor is the one telling you to lose weight, but you are fine with your body. Do you wish you had more energy or could take care of yourself without relying on others?

You can change. You can lose weight and become strong, but without motivation from within yourself you will not change your lifestyle and improve your health in the long run.

Commit to Yourself

If you want to lose weight you must make a commitment to yourself. Make yourself accountable and share your goal with your friends or a more anonymous online community. Change will not happen overnight, but one step followed by another step in the right direction will give you results.

Don’t let celebrities fool you – there is no magic bullet to getting healthy, but there are also extremes that should be avoided. Is it sustainable to exercise at the gym 7-days a week for several hours? Individuals on realty TV are able to do so only because of the non-realty of the situations they are in. Adjust your expectations that it will take time to lose weight, but if you do it right you won’t have to do it again.

Sustainable Success

Keeping things simple, you want to look to a weight loss program that is simple and easy to follow. Complicated dosing or restrictive diets will be challenging to follow long term. To kick off your turn to health look to the Shaklee 180 weight loss system. It is simple, supplies all your required daily recommended vitamins and minerals, and even tastes good.  Your Shaklee consultant will be another person committed to helping you reach your goal of living a healthy, happy life. The Shaklee 180 weight loss system is is not a magic pill, but a proven program that will allow you to lose weight while regaining energy and providing your body with the fuel it needs to stay committed to staying healthy.

Commit today. Join the network that has helped thousands of individuals just like you make a change, and commit to a healthy you.

Becoming the Consistent Product

A strong foundation is required to be a successful network marketer

Network marketing starts with a connection. The person you connect with can make you wonderful promises, tug at your heartstrings, and make you want to join them on their quest to improve the world. But, what if they don’t keep their promises. Why won’t they return your phone calls? What happened to that ideal connection?

Network marketing gets a bad reputation because some individuals do not keep their promises. They scam others into believing in something that isn’t real and never deliver what is promised. Integrity is everything in the business of relationships. From the first meeting throughout all transactions and interactions your success will be built by honesty, integrity, and consistency.

Honesty

Honesty must run through your life and business. Keeping commitments, like being on a three-way call with a new recruit or delivering a customer’s first purchase must all be done when promised. If your word is compromised, then trust has been broken. Be real with people about yourself and your product and customers will develop a strong connection with you.

Integrity

Your motives must be sincere. Many individuals join a network marketing group with the goal of making additional or substantial income. That is a desirable goal, but not if you seek to harm others to line your pocketbook. Scamming and taking advantage of people do not grow a successful, sustainable business.

Consistency

I go to my favorite restaurant time and time again because I know that they will always deliver a consistent, delicious product. Knowing that I will have a positive experience keeps me loyal. You want to become the favorite restaurant that your clients can trust to deliver a consistent relationship and product.

True success comes from real relationships. As a successful network marketer my goal is to work with people who are looking for more in life, living a healthier life, and getting back to nature is my goal and I am committed to helping those individuals who are looking for the same thing.

Simplicity made simple with Shaklee

Shaklee simplicity
With Shaklee you can keep it simple

Want to simplify your life?

As I continue to age and look back over my life, I start to realize that when we are young, we want it all.  We want to get a college education, get a job, have a family, travel around the world, and do what we want, when we want to do it.  There is only one problem: Money!

Money is the world’s equalizer.  Without it, you can’t do very much, and with a lot, your options open up tremendously.  It is like oxygen.  You can’t live without it but we don’t have to have pure oxygen to stay alive.  However, the more we have the better our bodies seem to operate.

The next problem is time.  We all have the same 24 hours in a day.  What we do with our time is at our discretion – that is unless we have a job.  Then we do with our time what our employer wants us to do as we become slaves to the employer.

So where is that illusive job where you can have it all? Time, money, family, travel, health, working at your own pace on your own time?  It does exist, but I it seems to be that we are not supposed to know about it when we enter the work force.  And, I can understand why.

Imagine that you come out of college with a Bachelor of Science degree.  You’re ready to go to work.  You’ve been conditioned all your life that when you get that job, you’re going to be required to get up early and go to bed late because you have to make that proper entrance at the job and stay late to impress the boss.  There will be the required social gatherings, off-site meetings, impromptu staff meetings on Friday nights, and working lunch meetings to attend.  You are ready for it, but first you have to find that job.

Now, let’s consider network marketing.  You come out of college with a Bachelor of Science degree or maybe just got your high school diploma.  You join a company like Shaklee.  You use the products to maintain your health and you share them with some of your like-minded friends who in turn have been sharing them with their friends and neighbors.  You get together once a week at the local watering pub to share thoughts about the products and listen to people who have been helped with various health issues.  Maybe these are issues like more energy, lost weight, can bench press longer and more weight, run faster and longer without getting tired, etc.  Oh, and once a month you collect a check and double check your bank balance.

Sometimes you can’t make the local pub meeting so you travel to the beach with some friends and skype the meeting.  Sometime you go to another country and share the products with your traveling companions who like your style of living, and they in turn share it with their peers.  Your bonus check increases and you’re thankful it is on auto-deposit so you don’t have to be bothered with going to the bank every month.

Is this life too simple?  Is that why people don’t get involved with a network marketing company?  Or, is it they don’t know which company to join?  For me, it was the last reason, so I joined one, then two, and found out the real mission of the company as well as the quality of the products.

That is when I finally found Shaklee.  Oh, I have seen companies come and go.  I have seen jobs come and go.  One thing that I have found is that some companies have longevity and stability.  One of those companies is Shaklee.  A quality, all natural company that is now poised to rapidly expand.  Don’t you want to join me?

Did you ever want to be a pilot?

The hunter
A P-3 Orion

“With realization of one’s own potential & self confidence in one’s ability, one can build a better world.” ~Dalai Lama

It was a bright, sunny day in San Jose, CA.  I had just graduated from college and was visiting my in-laws, wondering what to do with my life.  I had the whole world and its opportunities before me and now it was time to decide what I wanted to do with my life. Just a week after graduation the Army had sent me a draft notice.  I had had my physical and was waiting for orders to be enlisted.

Here I was, riding in the back seat of my father-in-law’s car near Mountain View, CA.  As I was gazing up into the sky, I saw an airplane flying low over the freeway making its landing at the Moffett Field airport.  What a beautiful sight!  A hint of exhaust was coming from four engines with these giant propellers pulling it through the air towards this slab of concrete they called a runway.  With the rumble of those turbine engine props, this huge piece of metal with wings was flying low over the freeway directly above me – I could even see the pilots faces, intent on making a safe landing.

I guess you could say that it was at that moment in time that the culmination of all my senses told me someday I would be a pilot making a smiliar landing at Moffett Field.    It was just a mere two years later, having taken the Aviation Officer Candidate Navy Program, that it was my turn to descend across the freeway with thousands of eyes of adults and youngsters alike, looking on and I am sure many were wishing they could be in the pilot’s seat.

Now, years later, I associate with people who are in network marketing, many of whom have a lifestyle that is second to none.  They travel, they take vacations, they have nice homes, and they work around their families’ schedule.

The question was, how do I get into that position myself?  Going to many conferences, finding the individuals who were real network marketers, who have the integrity, honesty, and the income to create the lifestyle that I was looking for, I found it through Shaklee.  An honest, stable, dependable company with a great compensation plan, products, and like-minded people.

The question now is, are ready to take the next step?  When I decided to become a pilot, it was a choice that I had to make on a daily basis.  One doesn’t just wake up in the morning or drive down the freeway and tell themselves that today they are a pilot.  They have to start with a mental state of deciding if they really want to do it and are they medically qualified.  There are books to read, exams to take, practical applications to apply for navigation, and working in an environment where you literally can’t see a thing except for your instruments.  Every time you encounter another obstacle, you must decide inwardly if this is something you can do.

The same holds true for being in network marketing.  Every time you talk to someone, every time you try or use a product, you are making a choice as to the efficacy of the profession.  Would you put your faith, your desires, your future, in a profession that is dependent on other people?  Truly, network marketing is a business where you get paid for giving people an opportunity for a lifestyle instead of taking a paycheck.

Before you join any network marketing company, be sure to do it by examining the products, the compensation plan, the people, and the way they do business.  From then on it becomes a daily, and sometimes a minute by minute, choice of deciding if this is for  you.  Are you willing to put in the effort, have the stamina, and the direction to make it work for you?
